Fats

Of animal origin (butter…), or from plants (oil, margarines…).

Fats are high energy nutrients. And not all fats are bad for you:
some fatty acids are essential for you as your body cannot create
them: you need to get them from fatty food.
Fats are also needed to absorb certain vitamins (such as Vitamins A, D, E, K)

Fats provide a source of stored energy, and are important for your body structure (skin), and hormonal constituents.

avertissement

Fats do not react well to being heated, and when eaten in large quantities, they can be hazardous to your health (leading to obesity, diabetes, heart diseases, and some types of cancer).

So it is important to get the right amount and the right kind of fats.
