Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates give your body energy.

There are 2 categories:
- Simple carbohydrates or sugars are quickly digested by your body,
and are found in sweet food (jam, honey, sweets…).
They are not essential to your body, but certainly have a pleasant taste..
- Complex carbohydrates are digested much more slowly by your body (bread, pasta, rice, dry legumes). They are vital for your body, as they give the necessary energy for your muscles.

avertissement

Eating sweets in between meals makes you gain weight as it helps the release of insulin in your body. If too much insulin runs in your blood, some glucose will go inside your cells, and you feel you need even more sugar, and snacks…

Sugar is also responsible for dental decay.
