There are several categories :
- Reduced fat/sugar/salt (at least 25% less than standard product),
- Fat free (0.15g or less per 100g),
- Sugar free (0.2g or less (mostly replaced by sweeteners and other additives)),
- Light in alcohol.
They all reduce the amount of calories.
But you must take into account that:
- A fat free yoghurt with fruit has no fat but is rich in sugar
- Some biscuits or chocolates with less sugar contain more fat.
- Light Crème fraiche or butter has more water than normal. But to give the same taste and texture, it contains more additives.
