Proteins

Proteins of animal origin (fish, meat, poultry, egg, dairy food)
are of high quality, and contain most essential amino acids
that are used efficiently by your body.

Proteins from plants (grain, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, cereals…) do not contain as many essential nutrients as animal proteins do.

Proteins are essential for your body to build new cells and tissues.

A protein deficiency can lead to severe weakness, poor resistance to diseases and bugs, and muscle weakness.

Your body cannot store proteins, so it is important to absorb a small amount at each meal, and to combine protein food that brings you all the essential amino acids. What is important is the quality of the protein, and not the quantity.

Too much protein can put a strain on the kidneys, and increase calcium losses from the bones.
